Commonwealth tournament preparation begins with third place in Stockholm
Scotland finished third in the Nordic Water Polo Championships in Stockholm on Sunday 13 November.
Scotland beat Sweden Juniors 8-4 in the playoff for third/fourth place, with three goals from Lucy MacGregor of the University of Edinburgh.
Coach Theodoras Bampouras said: "The tournament provided a very good opportunity for us to compete at a higher international level and gain experience as well as confidence that comes with that experience.
Given that this is the first official tournament we have participated in, the team should feel confident and more motivated to perform at a higher level," Bampouras added.
On Saturday 12 November, Scotland were outplayed by England (21-0) and Sweden (16-8) before winning their final group game against Sweden Juniors (13-3).
England beat the hosts 19-2 in the final. Scotland and England, bronze medallists in Manchester in 2002, travel to Perth, Western Australia for the Commonwealth Water Polo Tournament 23-29 January.
