| Water polo career |
First started playing at the age of 12 for Hamilton Water Polo Club. Moved to Leeds aged 20 where I played for City of Leeds for 3years. Have recently moved to play for City of Manchester where I play for the A team and are currently 2nd in the National League. Was selected for Scottish Senior team at 14 and played my first game against England at Varley Street in Manchester - I remember it well because I was very scared! Selected for GB Juniors aged 15. Missed out on my first opportunity to play in the European Champs because of injury but made up for it 2 years later when I was selected for the team. After GB juniors I moved up to the senior squad for a year. Not currently in the squad but hope to get the opportunity to be re-selected soon. Next goal after the Commonwealth Champs in January is playing for City of Manchester in the Europeans. |
| Personal |
Why do you play Water Polo? It is a great team sport that demands 100% effort and concentration. I love the sport as it is always challenging and is something different from your average sports. As a goalkeeper I get a great buzz from making a difference to a team when I am playing well. |

I did an interview for my job with one of the best ever British swimmers, James Hickman. One of answers will stick with me and keeps me working hard at water polo - "Have fun working hard, the talent you have is the greatest opportunity you will have to make your mark on the world." |
