I started playing at Glasgow University in 1997. I was selected for the Celtic Nations Team 5 years running. I played for Dundee Water Polo Club for 2 years when we won the Scottish Cup both years. I played for Renfrew Water Polo Club for 3 years and competed in International Tournament in Amsterdam in 2003. I also played for Menzieshill Club in 2004-5 in the National Leagues. I now play for Western and train in Glasgow. I have played a number of Internationals with the Scottish Team which I have been involved with for the past 5 years. Most recently we played in International Tournaments in Ousterhout in August, and Stockholm in September, 2005. I have coached the students at Glasgow University for a number of years after training there for 6 years and being awarded a Full Blue in 2003. |

I enjoy playing polo and the possibility of competing with the team at the Commonwealth Championships in Australia has been a huge motivation. I love the physical nature of the game and I love training with the other girls. There is a really positive atmosphere within the squad. As a teenager, I competed for Scotland at International level in Tetrathlon. (That's running, riding, shooting and swimming). |

I work for a small charity called Deafblind Scotland. We work with people who have a combined visual and hearing impairment. I have recently started a new job which is funded by the Big Lottery and is designed to improve the health and well-being of deafblind people by opening up opportunities for them to access healthy lifestyle choices. The deafblind members are really supportive of me and are always interested in how our team are performing. The staff at Deafblind Scotland have also showed their support by raising money for the Scottish Women's team which is much appreciated. I have received £300 and free membership to Glasgow City Council facilities under their Talented Sports Performer scheme, which I am really grateful for and which has been a great help. |
